These two works are part of my series ‘People should be happy’, that I created for the ‘Holland’ project by Mark Lotterman.
I got inspired by his song ‘Happy’.
When singer-songwriter Mark Lotterman asked me to participate in his multi disciplinary project ‘Holland’, I jumped at the chance. Mark is an amazing musician and his project is truly wonderful: instead of just releasing his new album Holland, he asked artists, musicians, schoolchildren, homeless people, scientists, and all sorts of other people to contribute an artwork, song, text, etc. to his project, inspired by one of his new songs.
‘People should be happy’ is, in a way, a portrait series of a fictional family. This work portrays the mother.
